Juliana Chueri is Assistant Professor of Comparative Politics at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Her research examines how welfare states adapt to political and technological disruption, with a focus on populist radical-right politics, platform work, and the politics of artificial intelligence.

Before joining VU, she worked as a lecturer at Leiden University and as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Lausanne (IDHEAP).

In September 2025, she received a European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grant for the project (Re)distributive Politics after the AI Revolution (REPAIR), which studies how AI-driven labor market changes reshape preferences and politics around social protection.
